Think about all the time you spend at the office, on the phone, working with colleagues, attending meetings, etc, etc. Do you love it? If you don't love waking up and going to work every morning, maybe it's time you made some changes. After all, life is too short to not love your job.

Now you may be thinking that having a great job and loving what you do is more like a dream for those 'lucky' people. But loving your job can be more than just a dream, it can be a reality. Putting all your time and energy into something that doesn't bring you some sort of happiness is grueling and more damaging than you think. After all, chances are you spend more time at work than with your friends and family or working on hobbies. So if you're stuck in a job that you don't enjoy, chances are you're not the happiest you could be. You don't have to be stuck in a career that doesn't suit you. You can be happy in your profession too!

The road to loving your job starts with a bit of self-reflection. What are your natural capabilities? What comes easy to you that you enjoy doing? Maybe you're a great writer or maybe you have a knack for computers. Maybe art is your passion or maybe you've always loved caring for others. Think back to high school or college; what were your favorite classes? What interested you most? Asking yourself a few simple questions can lead you to really understanding what you want to do.

So maybe you already went to college and you're thinking it's just too late to change your path now. It doesn't have to be. Regardless of if you already have a degree, there are several training programs that specialize in advancement or certification in fields like medical, dental, engineering, graphic design, computer science, etc. There are always ways to further your education and switch up your skills for employment.

No matter your level of training, your position now, or even your age, don't sell yourself short. Stop making excuses. You can have the career that you have always dreamed of. All it takes to making your dream job a reality is a little bit of time on your part.

Once you figure out what it is that you really want to do, do some research on the training requirements or experience needed and get going on it. Looking back you'll be happy you took the chance to your dream career and made it happen. Don't live your life simply being content with your job. Do what it takes and get a career you absolutely love!
